First Year Entry
Children begin life at Pembridge Hall in the Kindergarten. Pembridge Hall is non-selective and children in the Kindergarten come from a range of nursery settings.
At the beginning of the school year, teachers devote much time to settling the class, establishing routines and helping the children to make friends.
Girls are not expected to read or write when they begin school, although it is helpful if they can write their name independently. All children are academically assessed over the course of the year and work is differentiated according to each child’s ability.
The most important thing about a child’s first year at Pembridge Hall is that she feels happy and secure and becomes familiar with her surroundings.
