Chess is fun!

Success in chess leads to confidence and enthusiasm, which transfer to many other fields of education. Chess teaches children to think in a logical and mathematically structured manner. It also encourages them to think for themselves and develop a healthy competitive spirit. Within hours a child can master the language of chess. It is a sport which can be enjoyed by everyone.

Chess Club is run after school on Tuesdays. The Chess Club teachers are Grandmaster Aaron and Claire Summerscale. Grandmaster Aaron Summerscale is a best selling chess author and the British Rapidplay Champion 2000. Claire Summerscale is also a best selling chess author and is the current English Chess Federation Director of Junior Chess.
