Year 3 - Year 6 By embedding ICT across the curriculum, we give children a wide range of ICT skills and experiences. They are taught to use information technology tools to access historical documentation and research relevant information using a range of techniques. They also learn to validate their sources of information and prepare their presentations for a particular audience. Children study how to use graphical editing packages in modifying digital images to suit the tone of their presentations.
As part of their foray into multimedia, children learn to manipulate their own sound recordings and integrate them into their presentations. The girls are encouraged to collate and tabulate data into spreadsheets and utilise these to produce line and bar graphs and pie charts. Students can try their hand at mechanical engineering by devising control systems based on feedback to solve real life problems such as the control of traffic lights. |
