Life in the Upper School

Life at No. 10 is busy and fun filled. From the minute the door opens at 8.30 there is always so much to do! In the mornings you will hear beautiful singing from the chamber choir or lovely music being played by the orchestra. There may be excited chatter coming from the hall where a House Meeting is taking place or an interesting discussion going on in the School Council meeting. Every Thursday we enjoy watching wonderful class assemblies and wait with excited anticipation to find out which House has the most points. |
Lessons begin at nine. The girls work away happily in their classrooms until break.
At break time they get a chance to play games or catch up on all their news in the playground.
Then it is back to work. Perhaps there is an interesting Science project to complete, some pottery to be finished in the Art Studio or research to be done in the ICT suite.
| By 12.00 there is always a lovely aroma wafting through the corridors. Everyone is hungry after such a busy morning and looking forward to a delicious lunch prepared by the kitchen staff. Afternoons are just as action packed as the mornings! There is always some musical, dramatic or sporting activity going on; a play to be rehearsed in the Drama room, songs to be learnt or music to be composed. Sporting activities include swimming, netball, gym, dance, rounders or athletics. The fun does not stop at four. Clubs are very popular at No.10. Girls can select from drama, computer, yoga, football, chess, Mandarin, Art, French and "Young Scientist". They are also invited to join choir, swimming and netball squad. Dance classes include Ballet, Tap or Modern dance. |

| There is always something to look forward to at No.10. It could be a fund raising event, a trip to a place of interest, a visiting speaker or workshop. Perhaps the House Captains have organised a quiz, competition or fair. Invariably there are special events to prepare for such as concerts, plays, the Netball Tournament, the Easter Bonnet Parade, Theme Week, Sports Day, Swimming Gala plus Prize Giving. In the summer term Year 6 bid us a fond farewell as they set off for a week in France while Year 5 go on a Residential Field Trip. As you walk round No.10 you will be struck by the beautiful displays and the wonderful Artwork on the walls. The building is warm and inviting. The classrooms are both stimulating and colourful. The atmosphere is always purposeful, confident and happy. We are immensely proud of our achievements in all areas. |
Life at No.10 is full of magic moments. We wouldn't have it any other way!
