Delivering Excellence in Education

At Pembridge Hall, we are proud to employ talented educators, who share our ideals as a school and are eager to apply their exceptional experience to our community. One of our core values is to be academically ambitious, meaning girls with a range of abilities are supported and treated as individuals. For this reason, we recruit teachers who are caring, fun, creative, inventive, diligent and committed to every student.

Considerable emphasis is placed on continuing professional development (CPD). Our teaching staff stay abreast of the latest pedagogical practices and work hard to maintain their knowledge through regular training. 'Golden Hour' CPD takes place weekly and ensures that our skilled teachers are at the forefront of their field; this in turn allows learners to receive the best education possible.

Sophie Banks, Head

Mrs Sophie Banks became Head of Pembridge Hall in September 2022 after a long career in preparatory education, having previously worked across Early Years and Primary School age groups. Before joining Pembridge Hall, Mrs Banks was Headmistress of Eton End School, Datchet, and spent the previous 12 years at Beachborough School, Westbury, as Head of the Junior Department.

She believes in the importance of Character Education and supports initiatives that directly benefit our students. In addition, she is committed to providing a learning environment where all girls can reach their individual potential.

Mrs Banks holds a Masters in Educational Leadership from Buckingham University. She is enthusiastic about music and attended The Royal College of Music Junior Department before enrolling at Warwick University. At the latter, she studied a BA(QTS) in Music and Drama, the highlight of which was winning the Concerto Competition and getting to sing with the university orchestra. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, and walking her dog, Bertie. Her other interests include cooking and travel.
